Animal Hospital of The Rockaways

Since 1977

Welcome!

Thank you for choosing Animal Hospital of The Rockways as the source for all of your pets’ health care needs. Our hospital was established in 1977 by Dr. Rogoff and Dr. Simon, both graduates of Cornell University Veterinary College. We offer the highest quality care for your pet in a safe and pleasant atmosphere. Your pet will always receive the same care and consideration that we give our own.

Special Features…
Our hospital offers the following comprehensive medical and surgical procedures:

  • Complete diagnostic X-ray capabilities, with consultation by a board certified radiologist when appropriate
  • Ultrasound of the chest and abdomen by a board certified cardiologist/internist, including consultation
  • Complete ECG capability, with consultation available from Cardiopet, an international transtelephonic service specializing in veterinary cardiac cases
  • State-of-the-art surgical suite and anesthetic regimes. Isofluorane is the only gas we use for inhalation anesthesia, the same one that is used in human hospitals
  • Two doctors in attendance for all surgical procedures; a board certified surgeon is available for certain special cases
  • Two licensed veterinary technicians on staff who are trained specifically to recognize and respond to any situation, routine or emergency

About Boarding
We have complete boarding facilities, including stainless steel cages and enclosed indoor exercise areas. Every pet is kept in his/her own separate area. No physical contact with other pets is allowed, unless you request your two pets share a cage. Charges vary according to feed, care and space requirements.

All dogs must be currently vaccinated with distemper, hepatitis, parvo, parainfluenza, leptospirosis, (DHLP+P), corona, bordetella (“Kennel Cough”) and rabies vaccines.

All cats must be current with their vaccines as well – feline viral rhinotracheitis calici & panleukopenia virus (FVRCP) & rabies vaccines. Feline leukemia virus vaccine is also recommended. All pets with fleas and/or ticks will be bathed and dipped at the owner’s expense before admittance. These regulations are very important for the health of your pet, as well as for the protection of others.
