In Case of a Pet Health Emergency or Accident

The Animal Hospital of the Rockaways knows how stressful an accident or a sudden illness can be. Even though we want to manage your pet’s health with preventive veterinary care, realistically we know that some health problems happen without warning. We have full-service veterinary care available in case of an emergency and encourage you to call us right away at 718 474-0500, before bringing your pet to us.

Urgent veterinary care for your pet is needed if these problems occur:

Trouble breathing
Bleeding
Pacing, panting, and anxiousness that may indicate pain
Swelling or other allergic reaction
Hit by a car, car accident, or another major trauma
Drowning
Pain
Persistent vomiting or diarrhea
Poisoning
Dietary indiscretion
Hypothermia
Hyperthermia or heat exhaustion
Seizures
Unable to urinate
High fever

Even if we are not available, call us at 718 474-0500 and your call will automatically be forwarded to NYC Emergency Vet.
